Fiscal Technician - College of Architecture, Arts, and Design

Reporting to the Business Manager for both the School of Architecture and the School of Design, the Fiscal Technician assists with all aspects of fiscal management primarily for the School of Architecture. Duties include budget monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting; purchasing and accounts payable; accounts receivable; travel; wage payroll reconciliation; wage hiring; management of fiscal assets; data gathering and preparation of ad hoc financial reports; and the assistance with other financial and administrative duties as requested. This role will also cross-train with the Fiscal Technician for the School of Design and, working as a collaborative member of the college’s fiscal team, provide support to the faculty and staff of that school as business needs require. Required Qualifications:

Fiscal and/or administrative support experience in an academic or professional office environment. Demonstrated experience in financial principles and procedures. Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft office applications such as Excel. Demonstrated multitasking, troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to audit, reconcile, detect errors, inconsistencies or discrepancies. to work independently with little supervision; Strong customer service orientation. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience in business with a concentration in accounting. Demonstrated proficiency with financial and human resources information systems such as Banner or equivalent software. Experience such as working with payroll, travel reimbursement, and management of fixed assets. Knowledge of university fiscal policies and procedures.
