Hexagon Energy is a renewable energy development company specializing in large-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. As we continue expanding our operations, we seek a skilled and experienced Title Examiner to join our team. Hexagon Energy is seeking a Title Examiner to support the development and financing of Hexagon Energy’s renewable energy projects. The Title Examiner will be responsible for managing Hexagon Energy’s real estate title work, including reviewing title commitments and ALTA surveys, completing curative title work, working closely with developers and buyer’s counsel to de-risk projects, and facilitating the financing of projects. An ideal candidate is: Self-motivated, able to break a large project down into manageable parts and meet deadlines Experienced in individually weighing and judging risk and priorities Confident in your solutions and able to coherently advocate curative approaches to external parties A key quality in this role will be curiosity to understand the business, to know the desired product, and to find multiple solutions to reach it. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead all of Hexagon’s real estate title work. Order, review, and process title insurance commitments, draft and record title curative documents, and review ALTA surveys. Solicit and review quotes from title companies and third parties for title commitments, mineral searches, title policies, and related services. Edit title proformas, prepare legal exhibits, and draft other documents related to project financing. Work collaboratively with development and project management teams to keep all parties abreast of the status and action required for title curative work. Ensure conformance of title documents (commitment and proformas), ALTA surveys, and real estate legal agreements that govern site control SKILLS Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments and projects Willingness to train others and develop systems to improve the entire team's efficiency Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills WORKING AT HEXAGON At Hexagon, we are committed to the growth and well-being of each of our employees as we pursue our development goals. Required Qualifications:
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. A minimum of 2 years of title abstracting and/or underwriting experience (commercial underwriting experience strongly preferred).
