Matern Staffing is hiring a Director of IT for a global food manufacturer. With an eye on optimization, our client is on the lookout for a Director of IT who can leverage technology to drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence in food production facilities across VA, TX, and OH. The Director of IT holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for setting strategic direction, planning, and overseeing all facets of the organization’s information technology infrastructure and services. This role entails managing IT operations, driving technology initiatives, and ensuring alignment with business objectives to foster innovation and boost operational efficiency. To ensure success as a Director of IT, you should have in-depth knowledge of both IT systems and manufacturing operations to effectively support the diverse technological needs of the facilities, a passion for building and leading teams, and high-level communication skills. This is a direct hire position with a flexible home base in TX or VA. Travel is required within TX, VA, and OH. Salary: up to $125,000/yr. Benefits: Paid Vacation (5 days after six months of employment, 10 days from 1-4 years of employment, 15 days after 5 years of employment) Sick Leave and Holiday Pay Medical, Dental, Life Insurance Health savings account 401(k) with 10% employer matching (after one year of employment) What You’ll Do: Strategic Leadership: Develop and articulate the organization’s IT vision, strategy, and roadmap in line with overarching business goals. Provide leadership and mentorship to IT personnel, nurturing a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continual improvement. IT Governance: Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to uphold compliance with regulatory mandates and industry best practices. Implement governance frameworks to optimize IT investments, mitigate risks, and enhance decision-making processes Technology Planning and Implementation: Lead the planning, evaluation, and execution of technology solutions to meet business needs and objectives. Identify emerging technologies, evaluate their potential impact, and offer recommendations for adoption or integration into existing systems. Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, encompassing networks, servers, storage, and cloud platforms. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of infrastructure components to sustain business operations. Information Security: Develop and execute security strategies, policies, and controls to safeguard the organization’s data, systems, and networks against cybersecurity threats. Monitor security incidents, conduct risk assessments, and implement measures to address vulnerabilities and breaches. Vendor and Resource Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and consultants to procure IT products and services. Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and optimize resource utilization to maximize return on investment. Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and oversee the IT department budget, encompassing capital expenditures, operational costs, and project expenditures. Allocate resources judiciously, monitor expenditures, and optimize spending to achieve business objectives within budgetary constraints. IT Service Delivery: Define and maintain service levels for IT support, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues and efficient delivery of IT services to end-users. Implement service management processes and tools to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executive leadership, department heads, and business units to comprehend their technology requirements and priorities. Provide strategic guidance and insights on IT initiatives that bolster organizational objectives and deliver business value.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field At least 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles (preferably manufacturing industry), demonstrating a track record of success in strategic planning, technology management, and organizational transformation Profound technical expertise across multiple IT domains, including infrastructure, security, networking, and enterprise systems Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels Proven capability to lead and nurture high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving business outcomes through technology innovation Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, PMP, or TOGAF are advantageous Proven excellent time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills Ability to calmly and efficiently adapt to priority changes
