Matern Staffing seeks an adept Plant Manager to join our client's cutting-edge food manufacturing facility in Stafford, VA. With an eye toward expansion, they are on the lookout for a skilled Plant Manager who can oversee the daily operations of their fresh sandwich production facility, ensuring the highest standards of excellence are maintained. In this role, you will spearhead the daily planning, directing, and organizing of plant operations to achieve optimal efficiency. Your responsibilities will encompass the development and execution of departmental goals, procedures, and policies. Leveraging your sharp critical thinking abilities, you will identify opportunities for process enhancements, while providing leadership and guidance to empower employees in achieving plant objectives and ensuring customer satisfaction. Salary: $130,000/yr What You'll Do: Lead and manage all aspects of the fresh sandwich production operations inclusive of ingredient preparation, assembly, packaging, and shipping. Develop production plans, workflows, schedules. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Establish rigorous food safety and quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g. FDA, USDA) Conduct regular inspections Implement preventative measures across departments Coach and lead to develop employees/teams and meet operational goals Support Inventory Management and Procurement to ensure materials and products availability, while also controlling costs and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers Use continuous improvement strategies to analyze performance, identify opportunities, and propose solutions to meet operational goals
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, Advance degree preferred Proven experience (10+ years) in a managerial role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in fresh food production Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g. FDS, USDA) and quality management systems (e.g. HACCP, GMP) Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire teams, build relationships and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization Strong problem-solving skills, with a data driven approach to decision making. ERP systems experience, production planning, and inventory management software Certificate in Lean Six Sigma or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies a plus
