Humane Society of Harford County - Maryland (Baltimore/Fallston)
Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating animals, stabilizing ill and injured animals, overseeing day to day herd health, and overseeing our spay/neuter surgery suite and/or performing spay/neuter surgeries for shelter pets. The veterinary department, when fully staffed, includes five full time vet techs. Knowledge of shelter medicine protocols, particularly high quality high volume spay/neuter, is strongly preferred. Humane Alliance training is a huge plus! Must be licensed to practice in Maryland, or willing to become licensed in the state. Must possess or be willing to obtain a DEA license and MD CDS license (this is a reimbursable expense.) Required Qualifications:
All candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, have an excellent work ethic, be able to work effectively under high stress, and handle an emotionally and physically demanding work environment. Must be computer literate, using Word, Excel, email, internet browsers, and be able to learn and use the PetPoint database program.
