Are you looking for an opportunity to gain real world experience with planning, developing and conducting age-appropriate activities for 20 to 125 children to include daily activities, special events and classes? We are looking for a City Intern to work in Youth Programs in our Parks & Recreation Department. During this internship, you will build positive relationships and interactions with children to positively impact their development. You will develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with employees at all levels, representatives from all departments, and citizens. You will assist with monitoring the facilities and activities to maintain structure, safety, and a clean environment and to ensure that the participants follow the center’s rules and guidelines. You will also prepare any required documentation, as needed. Assistance would be needed to set up and break down equipment for various events and activities. How much money can I make? The rate of pay for this internship will be $15 per hour. What are the qualifications for this position? This internship requires a solid understanding and interest in recreational facility operations, the ability to listen and communicate effectively, considerable knowledge of providing good customer service, knowledge of safety regulations pertaining to work related precautions, and basic knowledge of recreational programming. The intern must be over the age of 18 and acceptable general background checks to include a local and state criminal history check and sex offender registry check. What type of schedule will I work and how long will the internship be? This internship will start March 2025. The position will average approximately 25-35 hours each week.
