Ground Water Treatment & Technology - Virginia (Quantico)

GWTT is seeking to hire a full-time Field Engineer within our Large Infrastructure Projects Group. The Field Engineer report to the project lead onsite and work closely with the PMO including project management, engineering, safety, environmental, and quality control personnel. The Field Engineer will shall ensure all aspects of the construction scope are completed in accordance with the approved project contract documents including: stamped drawings, technical specifications, and applicable construction codes and standards. The Field Engineer position requires responsible to positively and productively interact with GWTT internal staff/craft, and external County/State inspectors, engineering consultants, contractors, and the client throughout various phases of engineering, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout. Key Responsibilities include: • Quality Control: Review and comprehend scope packages to ensure engineering specifications and QAQC requirements are fully understood and adhered to by construction personnel during construction. • Communication Skills: Must demonstrate refined oral and written communication skills to productively interact and resolve problems with engineering details and field implementation of scope. Resolve conflicts through positive interaction with project stakeholders. • Technical Support: Evaluate technical challenges in field by: o Managing requests for information from construction personnel onsite o Ensure the request is consistent to the project specifications or intent thereof o Verify that proper documentation of change is signed off by the Project Engineer of Record o Ensure that the change is implemented as revised by the Project Engineer • Documentation: Maintain a logbook for each day of work. At a minimum, the daily log should include: o Date, Start/Finish Time and log of all visitors who enter the jobsite o Crew size for GWTT and Subcontractors – log total daily work hours for all site personnel o Scope of work performed, completed and inspected o List of deficiencies identified and corrective actions implemented o Activities completed at shift end o Maintain documentation of any/all communication with the Client/Project Engineer and Subcontract personnel o Approved changes by Client and/or GWTT and Subcontractor o Documentation of production rates and assistance with daily reports and production curve generation. o Prepare field notes detailing construction activities, variances, non-conformances, and other observations • Quality Control: o Conduct detailed review of drawings and specifications for inspections of equipment, instrumentation and materials delivered to the site. Identify and document all variances and discrepancies. o Develop Pre-Construction Inspection outline for each “Definable Feature of Work” for the significant scope. Specific items to be outlined include: Scope of work, implementation schedule, verification of approved permits, submittals, implementations equipment and materials, and substantive specification and site preparation requirements have been supplied and approved by the Engineer and Client. o Manage red-line drawings and document field changes for all aspects of construction scope to ensure changes are documented consistently with specifications and Project Engineer direction. • Project Stakeholders: Responsible to work cooperatively with state and county inspectors, the client representative and field staff and regulators, to support positive resolution of construction related issues, observations, scheduling and deficiencies. • Project Scheduling: It’s vitally important to pro-actively interface with State and County governing agencies and third-party inspectors regarding inspection schedules. Understanding GWTT’s project schedule is paramount to ensure that required submittals and site/permit inspections are scheduled and executed in a timely manner. • Land Survey: Must be proficient with requirements of site survey control. Baselines are established. Field Engineer will coordinate with surveyors to layout and as-built project scope, and monitor tank structures for potential settlement. • Project Inventory: Work closely with Site Superintendent to verify incoming shipments. Responsible to perform inspection of items to ensure product: o Meets specifications, drawings and purchase order o Is not damaged and/or no visible defects to packaging or shipped item o Document/Report any visible damage or defect to item to Supplier and Shipper • Interaction with Subcontractors: Develop a “positive and productive” relationship with each subcontractor. This is necessary to ensure the following: o Establish Trust to create a transparent work environment to achieve maximum quality of work and to productively resolve conflicts regarding workmanship or resolution of specification conflicts. o Documentation of schedule, actual work completed and workflow for development of production curves. o Collect and organize all QA/QC Documents from Subs • Project Photos: Photo-document the preconstruction, daily progress and final completion photographs. Required Qualifications:

- BS degree in Engineering or engineering related field. - Experience with MS suite, AutoCad, Navisworks, Procore, Bluebeam desired.
