Established in 1978, UOSA serves Fairfax County, Prince William County, and the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park and is the first and longest-operated indirect potable reuse project in the United States. UOSA has been treating and reclaiming water for use as drinking water for nearly 50 years. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING As the GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for the accurate collection, analysis, and management of UOSA’s geographic data; collaborating with staff across departments; and developing and maintaining standardized processes for data storage, sharing, and GIS product development. Your work will be a critical component of UOSA’s Vision to be globally recognized for its leadership in protecting the region’s water resources. Required Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS • A four-year college degree is required, preferably in Geographic Science. Alternatively, a degree in another field supplemented by a GIS certification is acceptable. • A minimum of five years of professional experience is required, with at least two of those years including experience in GIS, CAD, or cartography. • Experience in project management is essential. • Must have good working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and StoryMaps. • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity and proficiency in JDE EnterpriseOne system is preferred. • Must have the ability to read and interpret utility drawings and other technical documentation. • Must have a thorough understanding of sewer utility networks. • Knowledge of the operations and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure is preferred. • Must be capable of analyzing large volumes of data with accuracy and efficiency. • Must demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments. • Must be able to define project priorities, create schedules, and manage tasks independently. • Must be able to communicate effectively and collaborate across multiple divisions to evaluate project needs and deliverables. • Must maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public. • Must possess a high degree of integrity and able to handle complex and sensitive work situations with discretion. • Must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position, including extensive walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds. • Possession of a vehicle operator's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
