CJMW Architecture is seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer Level III to join our team and contribute advanced technical expertise to a variety of complex architectural projects. This role is ideal for a professional with deep knowledge of building systems, construction documentation, and design detailing, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is capable of leading technical development through all phases of a project.
Required Qualifications:
• Technical or construction management degree from an accredited institution in the Architectural field. Architectural licensure not required. • 7-10+ years of architectural experience working in an architectural firm, with a strong focus on technical design and documentation. • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and other industry-standard software. • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods. • Familiarity with applicable codes [IBC, NFPA, ADA, etc.] and regulatory compliance. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across disciplines. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the production of high-quality technical drawings and construction documents in coordination with design intent and client goals. • Collaborate with project architects and consultants on technical execution from schematic design through construction administration. • Develop detailed building systems, wall sections, and coordinating drawings. • Perform quality control reviews to ensure code compliance, technical accuracy, and alignment with project standards. • Coordinate with engineering disciplines, manufacturers, and fabricators for constructability and integration of systems. • Research and apply building codes, zoning regulations. ADA, and other jurisdictional requirements. • Mentor and guide junior designers in best practices for documentation and detailing. • Participate in site visits, field reports, and construction observations as needed. • Performs construction administrative duties such as site visit OAC meetings, produce field reports with construction observations, answer RFI’s and review submittals as needed. • Identify potential project risks or delays and implement effective mitigation strategies.
