We’re looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead land development projects from concept through construction closeout. This role blends technical design expertise, project leadership, and client management—ideal for someone ready to take ownership of projects and mentor a growing team. Location: Fredericksburg, VA (in-office with hybrid flexibility) ?? What You’ll Do Project Management & Delivery Lead land development projects (public, residential, commercial, mixed-use) from proposal to closeout Develop scopes, proposals, schedules, and contracts Manage permitting, agency coordination, RFIs, and submittals Keep projects on track—scope, schedule, and quality Technical Leadership Design and review site development plans (grading, stormwater, utilities, erosion & sediment control) using AutoCAD Civil 3D Oversee QA/QC and ensure compliance with VDOT, DEQ, and local standards Guide engineers through design challenges and production Team Leadership Mentor and develop junior engineers Delegate effectively and set clear expectations Lead project kickoff meetings and internal coordination Client & Business Development Serve as the primary client contact Build long-term relationships and identify growth opportunities Represent the firm at meetings, hearings, and industry events Financial Oversight Manage budgets, utilization, and project performance Handle invoicing, change orders, and accounts receivable
Required Qualifications:

What You Bring B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) EIT required; PE preferred (or ability to obtain within 12–18 months) 7+ years of experience in land development engineering 2+ years managing projects and teams Strong experience with Virginia site development, permitting, and regulations Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, Storm Sewer, WaterCAD Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and deadlines
