About the Position The Banquet Manager will lead the Events team in delivering exceptional service and execution across a wide variety of Club events and celebrations. This role requires a highly organized leader who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while ensuring every event experience is seamless, polished, and memorable. The Banquet Manager will help lead one of the most active and diverse food and beverage and events operations in the private club industry. Farmington’s event program spans elegant ballroom receptions, intimate wine dinners, member celebrations, business meetings, racquets and golf events, and outdoor gatherings across a collection of distinctive venues, including the Ballroom, Jefferson Room, Blue Ridge Room, Sports Pavilion, and expansive outdoor event lawns. Supported by five independent kitchens and a highly collaborative events, culinary, and service team, this role is central to delivering the elevated hospitality experiences that define Farmington Country Club. The Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of event functions throughout the Club, including leading the service team, staff development, operational execution, and maintaining Farmington’s standards of excellence.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel, or club environment. Experience managing high-volume operations. Experience leading a large team of line-level employees and assistant managers. Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficiency with POS systems, time and attendance systems, and inventory management software. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Preferred Qualifications College degree in Hospitality Management or Business. Advanced knowledge of beverage and wine service. Beverage certifications (such as WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, etc.).
