Senior Compensation Analyst
Virginia Tech - Virginia (Blacksburg)
Under the direction of the Compensation Director, the Senior Compensation Analyst will be responsible for providing guidance and analytical support for the implementation and execution of compensation processes, programs and practices for University. Partners closely with university HR leaders and university managers to provide compensation consulting to senior management areas. Following an initial onsite onboarding period, this position may be fully remote with travel to the Blacksburg campus as business needs warrant.
Required Qualifications:
Significant experience in compensation, financial or other data science/analytics, business intelligence • Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as HR management, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience/expertise • Experience with job pricing and market benchmarking • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and exceptional • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and consultative skills • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information and sensitive situation with discretion
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field • Considerable experience in the compensation field • Earned or in pursuit of Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation • Experience in developing compensation structures, job families/position levels, salary ranges and conduct job evaluations and market pricing • Understand change management and be able to identify implications of compensation projects and plan for implementation • Complex problem resolution skills • Experience using compensation management software such as PayFactors or PayScale
